Business tycoon Mr. Mukesh Ambani, CEO of RIL an Indian Conglomerate Company, is one step closer to the touted “JIO Dream” with the announcement of the commercial roll-out of Jio Giga Fiber, a Fiber To The Home(FTTH) service. In one of the biggest RIl’s annual general meeting, Mukesh Ambani has proudly presented RIL has company’s top company largest exporter, highest taxpayer, fastest-growing mobile network operator, with plans to be its biggest broadband provider.
Jio Giga Fiber, previously known as Jio Fiber, has been in testing phases in some localities of Mumbai for the quite some time, boasting a speed of 1gbps. Mr. Mukesh Ambani announced the rollout of Jio fiber would take place in 1100 cities across India to consumer belonging to various walks of enterprises and localities.
While introducing Jio Giga Fiber, Reliance Jio director, Isha Ambani said, “Gone are the days of Mbps, now it will be Gbps. With Giga Fiber, Mr. Mukesh Ambani plans to aggrandize to digital India targeting 5 crore broadband users throughout the country and that constitutes around 18 percent of Fixed Line market.
What does Jio Fiber aim to do?
Jio has also announced the launch of concomitant devices with Giga Fiber. The list comprises of home routers, smart TV set-up boxes, switches and routers among other things. According to Mukesh Ambani, Giga Fiber aims to turn your home into a smart home where you would be able to control your electronic appliances in an automated fashion. Your home appliances like AC, TV lights etc would directly be linked to your smartphones which would provide you seamless access to them.
Jio also boasts top of the line bandwidth provisioning accompanied by a smart TV set-up box which would enable you to call people on Jio Fiber network apart from providing DTH solutions. These solutions have come far from a conceptual model and are ready to roll out.
Also, these services would be at competitive prices and according to us after delivering in the Telecom sector there’s little room for doubting Jio.
Roll Out Plan And Registration
Jio plans to roll-out their services across 1100 cities simultaneously. A promised roll-out on 15th August has been announced at 41st AGM of RIL. Willing consumers are asked to register for their share of automation and revolutionized digital services on MyJio app.
According to a report: “The initial FTTH plan includes 100 gigabytes (GB) of free data at 100 Mbps speed, once the data limited is exhausted, the customers can do top-up of 40 GB of free data 25 times in a month, effectively meaning 1,100 GB of free data a month.”
Mukesh Ambani stated that the roll-out would be based in terms of area exuding higher interest but none would be discriminated against.
After taking on the mobile giants of the likes of Airtel, Idea, And Vodafone, Jio plans to annex the Fixed line services in India with a vision to improve it’s standing in the world ranking of Broadband services from 67th to top 5.
